Postpone NEET & JEE: Big Names Join Campaign

As the exam dates are approaching and number of Covid-19 cases are on constant rise, students’ campaign to get the engineering and medical entrance examinations postponed is gaining momentum. The students, worried about their safety, turned to twitter in huge numbers. Multiple hashtag demanding the postponement on the ground of flood, pandemic and transportation problems, made to the trending list.

The campaign has got it’s fuel as many celebrities, leaders from ruling and opposition parties, YouTubers and journalists have supported the demand in last few days.

Though the Education Ministry and the National Testing agency are seemingly rigid to conduct the exam, students are in no mood to step out amidst this pandemic.

Youtubers/celebrities are appealing the government via twitter and politicians are writing letters to the Prime Minister but at the same time future of lakhs of students is on stake.

Famous Yotubers Like Bhuvan Bam(BB Ki Vines), Ashish Chanchalani, Ajey Nagar(Carryminati) and Amit Bhadana requested the central government to prioritize the health of students.

After the entry of ruling party MP Subramanian Swami into the campaign, a number of politicians jumped into the scene. Chirag Paswan, MP from Bihar wrote a letter to the education minister stating the double trouble being faced by students of Bihar, as the state is badly hit by flood as well as Corona. Another Rajyasabha MP Sanjay Singh wrote a letter to Mr. Nishank, stating similar problems.

Leaders of different parties also turned up to twitter and asked the government to ensure safety of more than 25 Lakh students appearing for JEE and NEET. Manish Sisodiya, Education Minister of Delhi, blamed the central government for playing with the lives of students and asked the government to look for the alternative options for admission. Akhilesh yadav, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh questioned the feasibility of transportation for such big number of students amidst this pandemic.

        2. Postpond jee and neet. Please. Infact I have to travel from one district to another district to appear in the exam. In the current senerio is it safe to travel that to by public bus. Stay there and appear for exam. Arent me and family at risk. Hopefully you will understand where are we standing now.

  2. Sir, we are prepared for exam but the fear for corona will not let us concentrate in that 3 hours. I m using spectacles it is not possible to wear mask for 3 hours, the specs become foggy. Using gloves can trouble us filling our omr sheet or doing rough work for by sweating in the hands. Sir high risk of our health and our family members too.

    I am from Bihar here lockdown is still going on transportation and hotels are shut down and here conditions are worst, Corona cases are increasing exponentially and flood is everywhere…In normal days it takes 4 hours to reach Patna (my centre city) from my hometown but due to flood now it’s gonna take 9 hours by road. And Corona cases are so high in Patna its frightening. My father is a diabetic patient and he is going to accompany me at exam centre and my Grandmother is cancer patient and she live with us if I get infected I may survive but what is going to happen to her . It’s very scary..

  11. Today I saw a video in which a student who appeared for BEd. Exam in UP was hospitalised and he was critical and not able to respire. It was very heartbreaking.kitta bhi try kr ke government bt SOP NHI FOLLW HO SAKTI…MANN KI CENTRE PR HO BHI GYE FOLLOW Lekin transportation ke time kya…contact me to gauge hi na loge ke.. we students only want postponement and nothing else..and I’m very scared .

  17. अरे ससुरा हमरे यहां बिहार में एक तो हम बाढ़ से परेशान हैं।
    घर में पानी घुसा हुआ है, भैसियां भी मर गई बाढ़ में , अब हम उसका दूध बेच कर पैसा भी नहीं कमा सकते, खाना खाने का पैसा सही से हो नहीं पा रहा है।
    Exam center 150km दूर है , गाड़ी चल नहीं रही है,
    अब हम का करें बताइए
    थाली , कटोरा और मोमबत्ती ले कर पैदल घर से यात्रा पर निकल जाएं क्या।

    एक तो हमारी भैसिया मर गई है और अगर अब हमको कुछ हो गया तो हमारे घर वाले का क्या हाल होगा सोचिए थोड़ा

  25. Sir NEET nd JEE are not only exams but these are our dreams…. Our family members have a lot of expectations from us.. Give exam by wearing mask and gloves for such a long time it’s not easy to students like me who have asthmatic problems And also wear specs become foggy which divert our focus during exam and we are not able to give our 100% during the exam…. Also there is a problem of transportation for many students.. Please help us 🙏🙏

    I have one exam on 7th of sept in kota and 11th in kota and 13th in patna..how will i go and come from there and give exam..tell me..
    Aiims director already says that if the exam get there is no any loss of academic year..so why u r taking exam in this pandemic..

I know it doesn’t not badly affect young people like us but it affect after it whole life will sufer from heart and lungs problem and if we ignore it then what about my parents who will move to my exam center with me and after I will return home I have to stay with my family on this cost I can’t give eaxm which risk my life or my family life.

  36. I m from araria (bihar) . My is in gaya.The distance between gaya and araria is about 600 km. How it is possible without any transportation.

  47. Condition are not suitable for exam conduction . Low testing in bihar ,flooded area ,lockdown imposed , no sop followed. Nta and ministry of education must see sop by coming at ground level.   65. Sir pls postpone the neet till diwali… As we are already fighting with corona… And most of the students are also fighting with the stress.. But most important is our health and our family health sir… I live in the joint family sir.. Where my grand parents and we are having kids on our home whose immune systems are not strong like us. And we have seen many exams that was held on the state level sir one question if a students appeared on thousands number no sop is followed so sir how could you guaranteed that in this exam which is held in big level the sop will be followed..   67. Sir, I am a student of Saharsa district as we all know that the examination of Jee is from 1 to 6 and the examination of NEET is going to be on 13 September.We all want the date of the paper to be pushed forward and there are many reasons for this as follow:-
    First of all, we are not mentally prepare for exam in this covid situation,
    2.There are many positive cases coming daily in our Bihar and we all are worried about how I will go out of the house.
    What is necessary or will we be able to come back safely.

    2. Our center is 400-500 less away from here and as we know, the traffic keeps on for 2-3 days.As you might know yourself, transport service is still closed in many states and we belongs from middle class family and we all do not have that much money.That we could go somewhere with the beloved vehicle.If we all go from a bus and auto to the center in which there will be many students together, then tell me your risk that we will all be safe.

    Please Sir postpone not only JEE and NEET 2020 but all the exam which you wants to conduct in coivd-19 phase and decide any appropriate date for conducting these all exam after when the situation will be handle and numbers of positive cases decreases.

Also because of the severe floods in Bihar and Asam, people are suffering a lot. Also it is not possible for us to put up on masks for continously 3 hours, specially for people who have breathing problems.

  81. The non stopping 3 days regular rainfall, completely curfewed town due to covid cases, lack of grocery, irregular electricity, no proper water facility, i belongs to a middle class family not an rich child we don’t have that much money that we may afford the treatment of covid…
    If you want us to give exam than it should be after the complete removal of this pandemic situation throughout the country….

    I’m an MBBS aspirant and im from a small district Rayagada in Odisha which has 2k+ covid 19 cases and still raising by nearly 100+ per day.

    In this kind of situation it’s very difficult for us to attend the exam . Moreover I have to reach Vishakapatnam which in in Andhrapradesh for my exam. It’s very difficult for us to arrange a vehicle to go there.

    More than 15 lakh students are appearing this exam . Govt. has ensured for SOP but it’s not feasible for that huge count sir. As we have also seen for certain state entrances these measures were not taken.

    We request to further postpone the exam for some time until the vaccine is available. I believe you’ll help us in this regard.

    Actually in my state their are only 3 cities have centers. And my center in 350 km which took min 6-8 hrs .

  117. Sir inhone ek baar bhi unka nahi socha jo saalon se tayyari kiye hain lekin abhi xam keval is wajah se nahi de payenge kyun unhe sardi , zukham ya normal bukhar hai . Ya fir transport k wajah se late pahuncha student ya fir kya pata uske pariwar mein koi ya wo khud hi infect hua to . Is bechare ki to saalon ki mehnat bekaar chali jayegi na. Fir uske dimag mein suicide k alawa aur kya aayega

  121. Suppose we maintain social distancing in the centre but what about outside the centre , what about the public vechile we are going to use Coz Everybody do not tend to their Private Vehicle. There will be no social dostancing inside th vehicle.
